AMOR
FATI
Imogen has once again collaborated with another artist. This time with Swiss,
Mich Gerber, on his recently released
album -- AMOR FATI -- out since March 13, 2000. Three new songs
from Imogen: "Embers of Love," "Sirens Call,"
and "Mare."
News release from Mich
Gerber's site (translated by Oliver):
"The new album «AMOR FATI» was released (March 13, 2000).
The double bass player virtuoso Mich Gerber is growing bigger since his first album
Mystery Bay
(Okular Records), hit in the Swiss landscape. Mich reappears with a new album AMOR FATI - Die Liebe zum Schicksal (Love of Destiny, or something like that..) Warm and
emotional on a 200-hundred year old instrument, with gloomy beats and the tremendous voice of
Imogen Heap (known from the last album from Urban Species Blanket) on three tracks, this album is certainly the mark of the talented Mich Gerber. Distributed in Switzerland through EMI (524811-2)."
Mich Gerber's official biography
on AMOR FATI:
"Already in January/February 99 first recordings for the album had been produced.
Further recordings followed in October and November 99. Mich Gerber took his time to mature his project and to refine his own particular style.
The collaboration of Mich Gerber with DJ Dustbowl, drummer Marco Agovino and Gert Stäuble as the producer of the new album was further enhanced with the guest appearance of Imogen Heap from the U.K.
The vocalist had already enchanted the world with her own solo project
iMEGAPHONE as well as her vocal part in the title song
"Blanket" on the last Urban Species album."
Buy AMOR FATI.

According to
Imogen's official site news of September
19 '99, Immi is busy writing and demoing her new album. The songs
"sound fabulous."
Greenwich Mean Time
For now, there's a NEW song --
"Meantime." Imogen contributed to the soundtrack of
the British film -- Greenwich Mean Time -- out in UK theatres October 1st.
The soundtrack was released in the UK late September. Click
here for the film's trailer. (Unfortunately, no music from Immi there but it's
a captivating trailer.)
Searching the web, found the soundtrack at www.yalplay.com (former
imvs, search with movie title) for £11.54 or approximate US $19.00. There's no cover art or track list with clips.
Check your large retail music stores for it.

Starved for some new stuff on
Imogen?
Barcode
Thanks to Danny Turner, editor of
Barcode -- a brand-new, "Alternatives in Electronic Music" English mag --
we've gotten hold of its debut issue with a wonderful, new
Imogen interview. The 3-page interview
contains a candid conversation with Immi on various
topics. It covers her start in music, signing up her record deal, the debut of
iMEGAPHONE, the writing and meaning of "Getting Scared," "Rake it in," "Candlelight," the gradual pace to fame, and what and when we can expect for her next release.
It's a great interview.
You can read some excerpts in the Interviews section, but if you want the whole article you must get a hold of
Barcode, Issue One. (We don't have permission to publish the whole article.)
Available in the UK for £3.99 (postage free in the UK, and only a £1.00 elsewhere), equivalent to US $8.00.
Barcode comes with a great CD sampler of electronic music.

Immi
calls
Thank You so much for calling! A sweet surprise. Talking to Immi
today (she was in London, us in NY), we can tell you her wicked fun
time last night at the Jazz Cafe with Ozomatli's gig.
Ozomatli is a funky & socially conscious L.A. 10-piece
band who through their sounds of hip-hop, salsa, funk and
jazz brought the house down. It was a blast! Joining Ozomatli
to the streets, the singing & dancing audience went
out like a
fun
carnival --
wild, crazy, and free as they concluded their set. Quite the unusual for a London street!
It was really "wicked." (!) Of course, Immi took
part.
Ozomatli is also signed up with
Almo Sounds, check 'em out here.
Imogen related that the "Blanket" video was shown on The
Box. Haven't seen it but if you catch it, let
us know. Maybe we can make a
request to have it on internetv.com or another video-showing site.
Filmed in
Brooklyn, NYC, she learned the lyrics backwards for the video shoot.
She said "when you see video
you'll understand why."
Imogen's last few gigs with Rufus Wainwright in Paris
(another fun place), Urban Species at the Jazz
Cafe (London) and the UK Jools Holland show were great. She's looking forward to her first acoustic
show in London later on this month. After a well-deserved rest, Imogen
will begin work
on her next album -- although she already has many ideas, sounds, and stuff to work with.
She's looking towards a very rhythmic, clunky, free-sound. We
can't wait!

"Blanket"
on Later with Jools
Imogen and Urban Species performed "Blanket" on the
Later with Jools Holland UK TV show this past
Friday, April 23.
Our "swede-art" friend Cathy in the UK watched the
show: "Imogen was mesmerizing!
Not just her voice but the way she moved.
The camera angles were great and had very close shots of her face. She was
terrific!" We'll receive a video copy, which after
conversion, you'll see in Real Video soon.

Solong U.S.
Imogen will be returning to London after the April 6th
gig, thereby
finishing her American tour. Imogen may do some dates with Rufus
(Wainwright) on his
European tour, but at this time the only confirmed date is the May 18th
show at the Improv
Theatre. This will be her first acoustic London gig (without the band, as
it was for the whole US TOUR).
Supporting the single "Blanket" from Urban Species newly released album,
Imogen will guest
appear at the Jazz Cafe on April 13th and 14th.
On a special note, Urban Species & Imogen will perform "Blanket" on the
Later with Jools
Holland,
April 23!
We've gotten word from Polygram about the "Blanket" video
(shot in NY with Imogen), being released soon. Details
will be posted as we get them.
After the May 18th gig, Imogen's main focus will be the recording of her sophomore album.
"Love & hugs" to Immi (as she often says to her fans) and wishing her the
best till then. We hope to see and hear from you soon!

Talkin
Loud press release on "Blanket"
On March 8, 1999, Talkin Loud will release Urban Species sophomore album.
"21-year old Imogen Heap spins herangular lyrical web around Urban's seductive sound
on 'Blanket' -- the title track -- and 'Predictably Unpredictable.' Blanket looks at life
from every perspective, drawing on influences as diverse as finger-popping hip-hop,
psychedelic funk, introspective folk, karate-chop beats, orchestrated soul and mellow
blues to create a style -- and a sound -- that is as hard to categorise as it is to quit.
Much like the inner city landscape, Urban's sound surrounds, philosophising funkily on, as
Mintos so aptly puts it, 'the trials and tribulations AKA the game of life'"
